Yasukuni Shrine | japan information
Just a few minute walk from Ichigaya Station, founded in 1869 by Emperor Meiji, Yasukuni hrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the souls of those who died in service for the Empire of Japan.
Within the complex, you can also find the Chinreisha, a shrine built for the souls of all the people who died during the WWII. Still within the Yasukuni Shrine complex is the Yushukan, which is a Japanese military and war museum where you can see some of the artifacts and documents from the war era. But just like any other shrine, festivals are also held in the shrine, especially during Spring and Autumn.
